But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. --Ezekiel 33:6

Day 20 - Isla Vista to Los Angeles
Today we woke up and headed to a local restaurant called Super Cucas #3 where we ate some amazing Mexican. We had a great and long conversation with two guys over the meal. We asked them what they think it took to get to Heaven and they believed we all just die and go to some giant resting place for our soul. After talking about creation and conscience being evidence for a Creator, they began asking us to answer every question they had about God's existence. After answering each one, we always brought it back to themselves and what it means for them when they face God on judgment day. One guy said that God didn't do enough for him to believe in Him and that God must send His only Son to die again if He wants him to believe. He said there wasn't enough evidence for God while he was standing on it and breathing it in. Clay then talked with a couple 15 year old kids who were skate boarding and they became convinced of their depravity and need for His grace and mercy. We then talked to a woman who was a legislator and grew up in a Bible thumper home but now believes all people can go to Heaven because God is love. After speaking of God's justice, which is a sign of His love for His children, the woman further emphasized His love. People don't want justice until something is done horribly wrong to them by another person, then they want justice and they want it FAST. I then had the privilege of talking to Tony, a 51 year old Isla Vista resident who worked on fixing doors and bikes. I used the analogy of the doors not fitting the frames and the need for a new door from a template and said that as humans our sin has warped us to the point of not fitting correctly the demands placed on us by God, but that through Christ's imputed righteousness we can be made into a new door and be eternally righteous in God's eyes. He was very intrigued and was shocked when I explained that good deeds don't make us good in God's eyes but only trusting in Christ. God then lead us to walk right up to two Mormon missionaries walking our way and we had a great time using Scripture to prove the Book of Mormon is fallible while the Bible is infallible. They were interested and really understood that the Bible and the Book of Mormon contradict.....will they ever admit it is up to God. Pray for elder Hansen and elder McEvoy to come to the knowledge of the truth and throw away the cult of Mormonism. We then left for Los Angeles and arrived at our Motel 6 where we were able to share with the two front desk workers. God is so good!
