Day 21

Well yesterday, we arrived in Thousand Oaks (north of L.A.) late at night and decided to stay in a Motel 6. This morning, we got up, got ready, and ate lunch at IHop (since we got a 15% discount for staying in Motel 6). Before we headed to L.A, we got the oil changed, then we washed the truck...which was pretty dirty. When we got to the city, we ran into a TON of traffic. I mean the traffic was horrible! We were trying to get to Dodger Stadium, so we went by the GPS directions. One highway would be very packed, so whenever we were directed to get onto another highway, I got happy...but my excitement was cut very short as I quickly realized that EVERY highway in L.A. is packed to the max -- it's like Atlanta traffic trying to merge with Atlanta traffic at 5:30pm, except it's like that all the time in L.A.

We finally found the stadium, but we got there a few hours before the game started, so we decided to go see the city. We cruised down Hollywood Blvd and Santa Monica Blvd (as I annoyingly sang "...until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard..."). It wasn't very appealing to me or the other guys, so we headed back to the stadium. When we got there, the parking lot was fairly empty, but it filled up very quickly. When we went to check out ticket prices, we discovered that the cheapest they had was $17, so we decided not to buy tickets...but Brad got to go in b/c someone gave us a free ticket. He told us that he was able to talk with the guy who gave him the ticket, but that the guy cut him off pretty quickly.

Austin and I stayed out in the parking lot and passed out tracts on cars. We were debating on whether to put English tracts or Spanish tracts on the cars, so we decided to put both on the cars since we had plenty. As the game neared the end, we quit putting tracts in car windows and went over to the other side of the stadium to pass out tracts to individuals as they poured out of the stadium. Shortly after we started, we were asked to stop passing out tracts. As we walked back to the truck, 2 security dudes on a golf cart followed us to the truck and commanded we leave the park.

After a long day at the park, we searched and searched for a hotel, but we found none and ended up going back to Thousand Oaks (45 minutes away) to stay in the same hotel. I was praying for God to provide us a place to stay, and He did...for a lot cheaper than what we had planned on spending for the night. We were all tired, and I crashed immediately!
