Day 18 - Fisherman's Wharf in S.F.

We ate at McDonald's and shared with a large Hispanic family from El Paso....good thing we had Spanish tracts thanks to Laurie Nelson! I shared the gospel with Rudy in the bathroom of McDonald's (funny huh?) who was part of the family from El Paso and was cleaning his daughter's stained clothes in the sink because she had thrown up....Little did he know God had ordained it for him to hear the gospel when I went in the bathroom. After explaining that God is perfect and calls imperfect man to perfect standards of holiness though man can never achieve perfection, he asked, "How can anyone go to Heaven then?" to which I was able to explain the sacrificial death of Christ being the satisfaction of God's punishment for those who would place their faith in Him. He was shocked to discover that church-going doesn't make someone righteous, because even our righteous deeds are like filthy rags like his daughter's clothing, and that only the sinless Savior could make us clean and new forever. We then left for Fisherman's Wharf and witnessed to several people. Two high school age Catholic kids, Victor and Sergio wanted to follow Christ with their lives after seeing their sin in light of His holiness. Later, Clay and I talked to a very confused and talkative Seventh Day Adventist man who said good deeds save us and were able to explain the reason Jesus had to suffer and die in our place. We then ran into a Christian group passing out Christian CDs and sharing Christ, but were unable to hear how they go about doing it. We then ate some pizza from Safeway and met up with our good friend Ryan Davis who was in San Francisco for the summer.
